&#8230;the ugliest doll ever.

I am currently up to my ears in lambie goodness:

I have little quilts stacked on my work table, ready for pinning&#8230;

Little pillowcases ready to be embroidered&#8230;

And an adorable little surprise that I&#8217;m saving for the final lamb reveal.

<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family:arial;font-size:180%;">&#8230;the ugliest doll <span style="font-weight: bold;">ever</span>.</p>

<span style="font-family:arial;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family:arial;">I have little quilts stacked on my work table, ready for pinning&#8230;</span><br />
<span style="font-family:arial;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family:arial;">Little pillowcases ready to be embroidered&#8230;</span><br />
<span style="font-family:arial;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family:arial;">And an adorable little surprise that I&#8217;m saving for the final lamb reveal.<br />
(I would loooove to show it to you &#8211; but I&#8217;ve decided to keep it a secret. Although, I&#8217;m getting photos as I work so that I can write up a little tutorial to share with you!)</span><br />
<span style="font-family:arial;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family:arial;">I&#8217;ve been very busy, but I don&#8217;t have any progress pictures to share today. </p>
<p>So I thought I&#8217;d share a tiny bit of my studio with you.</span><br />
<span style="font-family:arial;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family:arial;">Many, many years ago, when I was a girl, we would occasionally receive boxes of hand-me-downs from my aunt, filled with things that my two older girl cousins had outgrown. My cousins lived at least a few hours away from us (&#8230;how distant! how exotic!&#8230;) and receiving these boxes of goodies was like Christmas in July! </p>
<p>Ah, the books with tattered covers&#8230; the little purses&#8230; the colorful plastic mugs from amusement parks I&#8217;d never been to. </span><br />
<span style="font-family:arial;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family:arial;">Even though they were all used and my cousins had tired of them,<br />
for me it was like treasure. Especially since I didn&#8217;t have many little purses, and my parents didn&#8217;t take us to amusement parks&#8230; and I loved to read.</span><br />
<span style="font-family:arial;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family:arial;">This is a little troll &#8220;doll&#8221; that was rolling around in one of those hand-me-down boxes. And I still have her. I have never named her, but I have loved her since the day I found her &#8211; because she&#8217;s ugly. But to me she&#8217;s so ugly that I&#8217;ve been unable to part with her. I keep her, along with my other little found goodies, on a small shelf near my work table in my studio.</span><br />
<span style="font-family:arial;"></span></div>
<p><span style="font-family:arial;"><br />
</span><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://jenn.maruskadesign.com/blog/uploaded_images/ATroll2-708801.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://jenn.maruskadesign.com/blog/uploaded_images/ATroll2-708072.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a></p>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: arial;">She is about  1 1/2&#8243; tall and hollow inside.<br />
See that little scraggly bit of hair on her head?<br />
Can you guess how many times I have combed and braided that hair?</p>
<p></span></div>
<p><span style="font-family:arial;"><br />
</span>
<div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://jenn.maruskadesign.com/blog/uploaded_images/ATroll3-735966.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://jenn.maruskadesign.com/blog/uploaded_images/ATroll3-735270.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br />
<span style="font-family: arial;">She is grungy.<br />
Alot of that dirt won&#8217;t come off and I&#8217;m afraid to wash her too vigorously,<br />
worried that the paint might wash away, too.</p>
<p>But I am hopelessly enamored with her,<br />
and find the dirt behind her ears charming and endearing.</p>
<p>After all these years.</p>
