I’m back, baby!

Friday, June 27th, 2008

I have been out of my studio for the past week because

Josh and I took a road trip from Seattle, through Oregon,

down to San Francisco, along the Pacific coast highway.

It’s about an 18 hour drive each way. We took two days to get there,

stayed for 2 1/2 days and then took three days to drive back.

It’s been quite a while since we’ve taken a vacation and this one was great - one of the best trips we’ve had, just the two of us. Josh and I have taken many long car trips over the years. We’re good travel buddies. We can spend 12 hours in the car and still find something to laugh about at the end of the day. Now that’s love. ; )

While we were in San Fran. we met up with friends. Ginny and her new hubby Nick were there, as well as Christina and her husband Mark & son N. I got to meet Christina in person for the first time! Yay! As you can see, a good time was had by all….!

Cheers!

On the drive down I began learning how to crochet.

We saw many animals on the trip.

These are sea lions.

We even saw a wild black bear!

We like aquariums.

That’s Josh petting a shark.

We saw many giant redwood trees on our trip….

….but we only drove through one of them!

There were lots of opportunities to stop along the

coast and spend time at the beautiful beaches.

One night we sat on a piece of driftwood and watched the sunset.

Our last day on the road, we drove up to Mt. St. Helens.

The air was crystal clear.

And it was so quiet and peaceful.

I’m so very happy that we made this trip!

What happens when two friends who are both Etsy sellers,
blog buddies and seamstresses meet for the very first time?

Well, as Christian from Project Runway would say:

“It’s a pretty big deal!”

This past weekend Ginny (of iSew and Monkey Travel Club fame)
was in Seattle for a visit and we got to meet!

We had a wonderful lunch!

And then we dragged our men to the fabric shop!

It was great!!!

It was so nice to meet Ginny after emailing back and forth for so long.
She is super cool and fun, and we laughed and laughed.
And holy moley! I thought I had alot of projects in the works,
but Ginny is always thinking of new creative projects for her Etsy shop,
on top of making her own wedding dress
and sewing most everything for her wedding!

It is very inspiring to spend time with her,
and I am so glad that we had the chance to meet : )

Seriously, I felt like we hit it off immediately.
I really think we could have talked shop for hours.

Um, now that I think of it, we actually did talk shop for hours!

And I can’t wait to do it again.

Come back to Seattle again soon, Ginny and Nick!

P.S. Don’t forget tomorrow is the next installment of Lake Resort Nurse!
Chapter #11 even mentions nursing!
Whoo hoo!

For all of you who have been following the saga of our anticipated LOST party…
It was a huge success!
We had an absolute blast!

This is a shot of everybody (minus yours truly - who took the photo) right before the pre-show started.

We tried out the Pina Colada Punch recipe that Christina recommended and it was very tasty! Thanks Christina!

We had oodles of food - as everyone surprised us by bringing munchies and drinks.

Sam and David also brought some lovely flowers with them.
Sam and Tam brought homemade key lime squares - yum.

And a gold star goes out to Anne Marie, Roger and John for showing some super DHARMA Initiative - check out these goodies they brought!

Isn’t that great?!? Check out the DHARMA peanut butter - fabulous!

David was the winner of our trivia contest.
He got the correct answer for all three questions!
Yay David!

Incase you’re curious, the questions were:

How many days have the castaways been on the island? (93)

How much was Hurley worth when he won the lottery?
($114 mil. He invested the money, so by the time of the plane crash he was worth $156 mil.)

What year was Sayid born? (1968)

I can’t really comment on the show itself. I really enjoyed it, but I’m still trying to wrap my brain around all the things that happened. Hope you all had a great evening!

Thanks to Sam and David, Roger and Anne Marie, Sam and Tam, and John for making our party so much fun!
