Have I shown you….?

Sunday, September 7th, 2008

Gosh, it’s been a while since I’ve posted!

There’s lots going on over here at the Maruska house… I keep meaning to do a blog post.

I now have a list of things to remember to share with you guys.

So.

Let’s get this party started!

Here are a couple of sewing projects I’ve been working on.

I have 22 of these little flower needlebooks that I’ve been creating.

I’ve made so many of these books in preparation for the upcoming holiday season.

I hope that folks like them as much as I do. : )

Right now I’m a bit obsessed with these wee tiny flower buttons - aren’t they cute?

You’ll see those in many of my new embroidery designs.

Here is a WIP that I’ve had for ages: these bunny embroideries.

These will eventually be needlebooks for my select sewing sets.

There will be a needlebook with matching tasket and pincushion.

I’ve very happy with how these came out. : )

Conversation in our kitchen yesterday afternoon:

Josh: “Hey, have I shown you this computer game that I’ve been playing?”

Me: “No.”

Josh: “It’s pretty fun. And really cute. I bet you’d like it.”

Me: “OMG! I HAVE to put this on the blog!!!!!!”

This game was created by the California Milk Processor Board (the “Got Milk” people) as a cute way to promote… milk. The graphics are fantastic. The story is fantastic. And I am completely head-over-heels in love with this game.

It’s been out since 2007, so maybe many of you have already heard about it.

But for those of you who haven’t, I introduce to you:

“Get The Glass”

Simply click on the dice to roll them.

Keep your wits about you.

Try not to get sent to Milkatraz!

And enjoy!

I’ll see you again soon!

WIP Wednesday

Hello everyone!

Thanks for the great comments you’ve left for me - I love to read your thoughts and ideas - they’re wonderful motivation for me to keep up with my sewing and sketching : )

Sorry for this fuzzy photo - our sunshine here is sporadic and it seems to be either blinding or grey outside. This is a picture of my sketch for the hedgehog sewing book/pincushion set and one of the adorable little buttons I’ve found to go on the book. I’m not sure why the button has a hedgehog AND an apple on it - but by total coincidence I had a Japanese fabric that has hedgehogs and little apples on it - how did that happen?

So it looks like hedgehogs and butterflies will be the next sets that I finish up (and then kittens and finally Scotty dogs and dragonflies).

I couldn’t resist getting a photo of the fabric and ribbon I have for my first plush animal and bag.
This is what I’ve gathered for the Little Kitten plush & bag. I’m going to use the fuzzy orange/brown fabric on the far left for the kitten. The corduroy on the right will be part of the bag and the two middle fabrics will be part of the outside of the bag and then the lining.

I plan on making some prototypes of the kitten and bag out of muslin - so that everything is the way I want it before I cut into these gorgeous fabrics. I’ll post some of my attempts so you can see how they’re coming along : )

Now I’ve got to make dinner and then get back to my sewing while I watch Top Chef on Bravo!

Nite all!
