Have I shown you….?

Sunday, September 7th, 2008

Gosh, it’s been a while since I’ve posted!

There’s lots going on over here at the Maruska house… I keep meaning to do a blog post.

I now have a list of things to remember to share with you guys.

So.

Let’s get this party started!

Here are a couple of sewing projects I’ve been working on.

I have 22 of these little flower needlebooks that I’ve been creating.

I’ve made so many of these books in preparation for the upcoming holiday season.

I hope that folks like them as much as I do. : )

Right now I’m a bit obsessed with these wee tiny flower buttons - aren’t they cute?

You’ll see those in many of my new embroidery designs.

Here is a WIP that I’ve had for ages: these bunny embroideries.

These will eventually be needlebooks for my select sewing sets.

There will be a needlebook with matching tasket and pincushion.

I’ve very happy with how these came out. : )

Conversation in our kitchen yesterday afternoon:

Josh: “Hey, have I shown you this computer game that I’ve been playing?”

Me: “No.”

Josh: “It’s pretty fun. And really cute. I bet you’d like it.”

Me: “OMG! I HAVE to put this on the blog!!!!!!”

This game was created by the California Milk Processor Board (the “Got Milk” people) as a cute way to promote… milk. The graphics are fantastic. The story is fantastic. And I am completely head-over-heels in love with this game.

It’s been out since 2007, so maybe many of you have already heard about it.

But for those of you who haven’t, I introduce to you:

“Get The Glass”

Simply click on the dice to roll them.

Keep your wits about you.

Try not to get sent to Milkatraz!

And enjoy!

I’ll see you again soon!

Where have I been?

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

Just about the time that Blogger left me unable to publish, Josh and I were set to take a trip out east,

to NY and PA to visit family. We were gone for 10 days and had a wonderful time!

While we were in PA, we visited a small fair - filled with local crafts, food and animals.

Want to see?

I wish you could have seen the beautiful eggs in the last photo.

They were all different pale colors - very Martha.

I have a few more photos I’d like to share in my next post, and after that…

…I think there will be an *Unusual Giveaway*

So check back soon!

To leave a comment, you may have to register with WordPress,

which is super easy - just the standard name, email and url.

Oh - if you’ve linked to my blog on your blog, you may need to update the link now that I’ve moved away from Blogger.  Thanks to everyone who does!  : D

Thanks for stopping by!

Sew Sleepy….zzzzz

Monday, July 21st, 2008

Josh and I had a busy day on Saturday, being home, doing domestic stuff.

This was a weekend for cleaning. Getting things done!

Giving the house some good ol’ TLC.

The basement was swept and mopped in preparation to move back

all the boxes that were taken out when the floor was redone.

The kitchen was cleaned.

The fridge was completely emptied, wiped down and restocked.

Dusting, sweeping, laundry - you name it, it got done.

We had quite the cleaning frenzy.

It was like a cleaning party.

So when midnight came around, we locked the doors and closed the windows,

gathered up the kitties and shuffled upstairs,

our eyelids already feeling heavy from the long day.

And that’s when the real party started.

No, not that kind of party.

The party our neighbors decided to have all night long.

A shouty, drinky, laughy, Shakira filled evening,

of wall shaking dance music.

Josh, of course, slept through the entire thing.

I got up and cut fabric.

Until 4:30 am.

These pretty fabrics and ribbon will eventually become bunny bags.

Goodnight, Shakira.

I’m happy for you and your boundless enthusiasm for the music.

It’s been fun.

But now I need a nap.
