Long Overdue!

Thursday, September 11th, 2008

Right before Josh and I took our ten day whirlwind trip back east, I was the lucky winner of a birthday blog give-away from Kristi. Her blog is called Sunnypond Home and she is a fellow sew-er and maker of all things pretty! This thank you is long overdue.

This is the cardboard suitcase that she used to package up all the goodies for her give-away.

Can you believe that all of these things were inside?!?

(Neither can I!)

Soap, a make up bag, a little bear, cards, a little book, fabric scraps, candy…etc.

Many of these things she made herself.

I am overwhelmed by how generous she is and what a pretty collection of items she put together.

Thank you, Kristi!

Kristi is also a fellow Etsy seller and her shop is called SunnyKristi.

And if you haven’t seen her blog - I hope you’ll stop by and say hello. : )

(Pssst! Check out this adorable plush owl she made!)

Getting closer…

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

Hello from sunny Seattle!

We’ve been having some unusually cloudless, warm days here.

It’s so nice to have the windows open.

The cats are sprawled out in pools of sunshine on the floor.

Life is good.

Thanks again for all of your birthday wishes.

I walked over to Ballard and treated myself to a lemon drop cupcake from

Cupcake Royale (one of their slogans is “Legalize Frostitution”.… ha!)

* Delicious. *

In my mailbox were two packages from friends:

Lots of wonderful little goodies from Christina,

including this little dish, and a pair of earrings that she made!

I wore them to my birthday dinner with Josh. Thank you Christina! : )

And I got a cute little paper suitcase, ribbons and this, from Ginny:

Hilarious! Can’t wait to try these recipes! : )

Around this time, eight years ago, Josh and I were incredibly busy.

We were planning and organizing our wedding (all by ourselves), Josh was working 40+ hours a week, interviewing for a job in another state, working tirelessly on his portfolio, AND he was freelancing on a big project: as one of the artists working on a computer game called “Cro-Mag Rally”.

Being involved with Cro-Mag Rally was alot of fun, especially since our good friend Marcus Conge was also one of the talented artists involved with the project.

I don’t know about Josh, but when I think back to all of the things we had going on at that time, I can’t believe everything came together without a hitch. The wedding. Josh interviewing. Working on the game.

(My man is pretty darn amazing!)

We are so excited that Cro-Mag has recently been released for the iPhone!

If you have iTunes installed,

you can purchase the game at the iTunes Game Store.

Whenever I see Cro-Mag I can’t help but think of our home in Indiana, our friends there, our friends Marcus and Tammy and how young and busy we were!

She has red hair.

Coincidence?

I think not!

Over in my Etsy shop, I am nearing a milestone.

I’m three away from my 300th sale! Yay!

I’ve already started putting together a special goody bag

Hope you have a GREAT day!

Have you reached a milestone lately?

Getting close to one?

Birthday Goodness

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008
Hi everybody!

I’m not on my usual computer for doing blog posts today. I don’t have my Ecto program on this computer, so there’s a good chance that any layout work I do on this post will be for nothing - as Blogger has been mashing my posts into one big messy paragraph lately.

That should be taken care of tonight and I’ll be back on track!

Thank you all for your wonderful comments on my birthday post!
I loved them all!

I printed them out, cut them into strips and had Josh pick one out of a basket at random.

The winner of my birthday goody giveaway is:

Roger & Anne Marie! Yay!

I’ll be posting again soon - with more details and maybe another giveaway!
(I’ve got an Etsy milestone coming up!)

Again?!?

Monday, July 7th, 2008

It’s that time of year again, friends!

I’m turning 29* years old tomorrow!

Yayyyyy!

Want to celebrate with me?

Just leave a comment from now until midnight Tuesday the 8th.

I’ll select one of you to share a little birthday goodness with me : )

Come on, lurkers! Leave a comment and join in on the fun!

Have a great day,

Best,

Jenn : )

Happy Friday!

Is it me or did this week seem to go quickly? It flew by….
(and on the same note, could someone tell me what happened to September?)

A while back I was surprised to learn that I’d won a fabric give-away on Dinah’s wonderful blog: Miss Bufforfington (love that name!)

Dinah sent me these cute fabrics, which I’m sure will find their way into future projects. Thank you, Dinah!

I also did a little swap recently with Katie, of See Katie Sew. She mentioned that she had some extra trims that she could send my way. Well, not only did she send me some fabric and linen, but I was also in rick-rack heaven when I opened her swap package!

There was all sorts of rick-racky goodness in there! I truly hope that these were all extras that she didn’t need. And if so - what a great thing, that one person’s extras can be another person’s windfall. Thank you so much, Katie!
I will put them to good use, I promise. : )

I feel like I haven’t shared many works in progress with you guys lately. During the fall and winter months our family has alot of birthdays and anniversaries to celebrate, along with the holidays. And it seems the same holds true for my blog friends. Ginny over at iSew had her birthday in September. I got her gift out a little late, but now that I know she’s rec’d it, I can share a photo with you. This is the little monkey plush and bag I worked on in September for her:

(He’s just a little guy - around 3 inches (?) tall.)

And my sweet friend Christina is having her birthday TODAY!
Happy Birthday, Christina! I hope you’ll swing by her blog: This Girl Beads, and wish her a lovely day. You can also take a look at the beautiful gift her husband and son gave her…. the guys get an A+++ for this one!

I have another sewing book in the shop today.

I’m working on more of this design in blue, red and green.

Hope you all have a great day, and a restful, fun weekend!

They Say It’s Your Birthday

Monday, July 9th, 2007

Well, yesterday it was my birthday, too! Yay!

What did I do to celebrate? I relaxed! I even enjoyed a mid-afternoon nap! (bliss)

Last night Josh and I met up with friends for dinner at one of my favorite Fremont restaurants (the 35th Street Bistro). We indulged in plenty of great food, tasty wine and lots and lots of laughing together.
Three hours later we drifted home, tummies full and heads slightly spinning. : )
A happy birthday, indeed.

This morning I am slightly groggy and in need of some of Cafe Bambino’s caffeinated goodness (with chocolate star!), so Josh and I did a coffee walk together.

******************************************************************************

Even though my birthday was yesterday - would you still like to celebrate with me?

I’m going to put together a package of fabric and notion happiness to share!

Just leave me a comment.
You can even let me know your favorite color and I’ll try to customize your goodies : )
Don’t need fabric and notions? That’s ok - I’ll find something fun to send you!
I’ll ship anywhere in the world - so don’t hesitate to join in!

I’ll have a random drawing Wednesday morning.
One person will be the lucky winner!

Hope you all have a GREAT Monday!

I’m off to sip my cappuccino with hazelnut (my fav!)
