Man Down!

Good morning – hope you all had a great weekend!

Josh and I were homebodies this weekend. He had a presentation to work on and also wasn’t feeling well. Unfortunately, after all that work, he is home, in bed, sick today with a full on cold. The cats and I will do our best to nurse him back to health… I’ll keep him well supplied with medicine and soup. The cats will just sit on him.

Our car was also in the shop this weekend, so I kept myself busy by working on some wip’s. Including finishing up a few sewing books.
The grey one is already in the shop.

In plushie news: My friend Zander gave me the name of his attorney, but did not include her phone number. So I went online, thinking I’d find it – but no luck. (I guess I’ve gotten to the point where I just assume that if I have a question, the internet will have the answer.) So today I’ll look through the phonebook, and if that doesn’t yield results, then I’ll be hitting Z up for more info.

A little Seattle lore: We had a very dreary and soggy weekend here. But that didn’t stop us from wandering up to our favorite little coffee shop, Bambino’s. They were celebrating their anniversary by serving up free pancakes (I haven’t had pancakes in years – and they had blueberry ones…. they were so good!)

The funny thing is, the shop has a sign on the front that says something about being open since 1928. But when Josh congratulated them on their 70+ years of being in business, he was told that no, they were celebrating their 10th year.
The sign is made up.

And that right there is one of the reasons that we love Seattle so much. People have a great sense of humor out here. Personality. Quirkiness. Call it what you will.
We love it!

Oh no, I hope Josh is feeling better soon! It stinks that he’s so sick after doing all that work and preparation. I liked your line about the cats just sitting on him. Our cat would do the same thing. :)

1928, eh? Maybe the building’s been standing since then! :) Hope Josh feels better soon.

I hope Josh is feeling better as well! That is a cute story about the sign at the coffee shop :)

Are you trying to market to children for your plushies or are you just worried that if there could be an issue if a child has one because of the small parts. I wonder if you put in a disclosure something to the effect “This products that contain small parts and is not suitable for children under the age of 5″ it would cover you legally? Or “This product is for decorative use only and is not suitable for children” However if your point is to market to children, you may need to take out extra insurance??

I’m not an expert though–so you may not want to listen to me :) LOL

Thanks everybody for your kind wishes for my sick man. He’s been sleeping all afternoon.

Lucy – I’m worried about including buttons on the plushie. Also about the strap on the bag. I don’t want to sound morbid, but I’m just concerned that if some freak accident happened I could be sued. I just want to touch base with an attorney and see what they say. I’m also hoping they can direct me to the most current child safety laws and product requirements. They may recommend exactly what you’ve suggested with the disclaimer. We’ll see!

Oh–poor Josh! Hope he feels better tomorrow. You’ll have to make him some good chicken soup with plenty of garlic Jenn–send on the the road to recovery.
