Hello

Good morning!

I took your suggestion, Katie Jean, and framed a bit of my thrifted fabric. It looks pretty next to the pale yellow walls of my studio (although the photo isn’t very good - it has been dark and rainy here the last couple days). And such an easy project to do! I highly recommend making one of these if you have a piece of fabric that you love - these are super easy to make and come together quickly (you just have to wait for your glue to dry).

Yesterday I made a prototype of the tote bags I want to make out of that same vintage fabric. I’m big on prototypes - I like to work out all the details of something before I cut into my good fabric. I bought some great brown corduroy to make the outside of the bag with. I also have a grey fabric that will look nice, too. I’m thinking maybe there’ll be a wool/felt flower on the outside for decoration… hum… I’m still deciding on that.

Josh emailed me the other day that he reeeeeally likes these pillows (they are at a furniture design show). So - I told him “your birthday is just around the corner…”, which is funny because his birthday is in December! Ha!

Hey - at least I have some time to figure out how to make them and get them done. : )

I listed another sewing book in the shop today.

Well - It’s time to go look through my cookbooks and figure out what to make for our LOST dinner tonight… it is our turn to host. And then there’s the American Idol results…. will Sanjaya make it to another week?

Have a great day! Talk to you again soon!

Jenn : )

I’m waiting patiently to see the tote bag (maybe just a wee bit impatiently!). I love brown, so I can’t wait to see the brown corduroy one. Love the new sewing book. My mom has been hinting around that she’d like more of them so she can have a separate one for all of her crafts: beading, needlepoint, cross stitch, sewing.

I admire your patience for a prototype - I am usually so anxious to see the finished product that I dig right in and hope it will work - sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t!

    Hi Jenn,
The vintage fabric piece looks sweet!
Looking forward to seeing your new bags. I’m in the process of designing a larger bag at the mo but haven’t found much time to finish it :-(
Keep up the good work x

Prototypes huh? lol I’m more like jessi–I just dig right in. Your tote sounds cute!
I am so happy the Sanjaya finally got voted out. I was beginning to feel really sorry for him. He seems so young and sweet and you hate to see that get ruined. I think if he matures a bit and keeps working on it, he may be a fine crooner some day.

p.s. Who in the world was that girl who they cut out of the tree at the end of Lost???? (man, I love that show! lol)

Of course, now that SanJaya is off the show, he’ll be heading back to our neck of the woods…

    Doh!

Oh, I’m definitely liking it framed. It’s so pretty! I admire you for making prototypes. I never do that and really should.
